Murano Bowl by Flavio Poli for Seguso

A glass bowl that feels more like a gesture than a vessel. Designed by Flavio Poli for Seguso in the 1950s, this Murano piece curves upward in a slow, deliberate embrace, its twin handles unfurling like calligraphic strokes suspended in glass.

Executed in the Sommerso technique, layers of green, violet, and clear crystal are submerged one within another, creating depth that shifts with the light and never fully settles. It is heavy with intention, yet visually fluid—an object that carries the optimism of postwar Italian design, where experimentation met mastery.
