Ceramic Plate by Camilla Boccali

Regular price €220,00 EUR

A ceramic plate from Deruta defined by a rhythmic, almost hypnotic surface. The peacock feather motif—long part of the town's decorative language—is rendered entirely by hand with remarkable precision, each line guiding the eye inward in a quiet, almost optical movement. There is something distinctly organic about the pattern, recalling the flowing lines of Art Nouveau and, more distantly, the decorative world of William Morris. The form itself remains restrained, allowing the decoration to take the lead. Whether placed flat or stood upright, this plate holds attention with a quiet intensity.

Camilla Boccali is part of a new generation of Italian ceramicists working within the long-standing traditions of Deruta. Having grown up close to the craft, her work reflects a familiarity that feels natural rather than studied—an assured hand guided by repetition, observation, and instinct. Within a shared visual language, what distinguishes the piece is its clarity and precision, where a traditional motif is carried forward with a renewed sense of focus.
